Constructed in the year 1571 and rebuilt in 1666, it nowadays contains the ethnographic and archaeological Museum of Lanzarote. Visitors to the fortress have to cross the emblem of the city, Puente de Bolas bridge.
Built in the 18th century, the fortress is close to the harbour of Naos. It was converted by the artist César Manrique into one of the most important museums for modern art in the Canary Islands.
